euthanized on Wednesday evening, April 1, 2009. After waging a courageous battle with cancer, the disease advanced to her
spine, making it impossible for her to stay on her feet.
While clearly all families love their pets, to us Bea was truly a special creature. Throughout her life, she endured so much. Yet, she
was incredibly kind, gentle, courageous, and -– even up to the very end -- possessed a wonderful zest for life. With all of her
health issues -– deafness, poor sight, chronic ear infections, arthritis, bloat, pneumonia, and cancer -– she simply powered through
them. Bea possessed such a positive spirit. Words cannot adequately express how much we miss her. She will live in our hearts
and minds forever.
With ears that did not hear
And eyes that did not see
You slurped our hands
And nosed our knees
And sometimes missed the door
But your warmth and loving heart
Captured us, forever more.
